Thespian Nagesh No more...

Veteran actor Nagesh has left us today at the age of 77 due diabetes and a heart ailment while he was admitted in Balaji Hospital. He is survived by three sons, including actor Anand Babu.

Its been known that he has been unwell for a while.

Its pretty saddening that such a legend has departed us. May his aathma rest in peace.

There are so many movies ans scenes that i really love but here is one if it which brought him the National Awards...It still brings tears to me everytime i see it..

What i Watched

My throat do not feel alright for the past few days.. I hoping that i do not end up having some kind of infection?!!!Oh...i'm feelinh oh-so- full...just had my very first home hotpot!!!It was fun but i think i ate too much.. my tummy is looking sooo BIG now...urgh...

Anyways i happen to catch 3 movies this week...im sorry 4..kekek....Here is my Say on it:

Inkheart

Being a Brendan Fraser fan and a sucker of fantasy movies, i was dying to see it.

The movie did not fail to excite me. Especially liked the cute guy, who was acting as the "arabian boy" kekek.....Heard there will be sequels to it.Yeaaahhh...

Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule

This is the telugu version of "Yaaradi Nee Mohini". This was shot first and directed by Selvaragavan in 6 months.Ya i know, its pretty hard to digest Venky in Dhanush role.. but hey he was believable! Kota Srinivas acts as his father and Trisha as his heroine. Unfortunately, Trisha's costume selection was just too awful. Oh. even Srikanth was donning a role in it... as his fren.. who happens to be Trisha's fiance.

The comedy song was not included and the ending was slightly changed.
Glad i bought it:)

Venky received a Nandi award for it! Congrats!

There is absolutely only one reason why i got it... Mahesh babu.. Mahesh babu.. Mahesh babu..

Sad to say this, but its an absolutely trashy flick!!!!The stunts were absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable!! He was busy jumping and flying around and totally forgot to act????!!!!want to know the Story???what story???!!!

The only saving grace was Trisha who appeared 50mins later!!Her costumes were just too beaautiful...especially her pavadai thaavanis.. never thought you could design it like that!!!

Irfan Khan appears as the villian! By the way the movie was dubbed in tamil as "Kumaran".

Dun watch it!!!!

Thappu Thaalangal

I have read and heard sooo much about the movie and i have finally seen it!!!yeaaah..

I remember my sis praising it to the hilt.

Well people, everyone should see this movie..esp ALL Rajini Fans!!!!

Its a FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!! It debuts Sarita .. which is really unbelievable coz she acted as a pro!!! She even did a couple of daring scenes... which none of the actresses will do now!!

It has stamps of KB all over it!!! If you haven't seen it, go and get the DVD now!!!

Such movies won't and can't be taken now as they will publicise it wrongly and destroy the life of the film!!!!Salute to KB!

Omigawd! i Just heard the news that both AR Rahman & Sukwinder Singh have been invited to perform their song in Oscars!!YaaaaaHoooooo!!!!!Never in my dreams have i imagined this... Its goin to be an exciting Oscars for ALL INDIANS!!
Im just jumping in Joy!!!yoooHOO!!!

Lets All pray That ARR gets the Academy Award as He deserves it!:)

Rahman has clinched 3 Oscar nominations for Slumdog?!!!Yoo Hoo!!!
What could be more fantastic than this?

I mean we all know how creatively talented ARR is but this nominations just informs our western counterparts how talented how Indians are ..esp ARR!!ha!

Im sure many of you will agree that many of his Indian movie compositions exceeds SD but we needed a collaboration flick to bring us UP there.

Okie , I happen to catch 2 HIT hindi flicks over the weekend. Here is my Say:

Its such a Huge hit in India. It has the debut of Imran Khan who resembles his Uncle Aamir. Chooo handsome!!!Juz like Aamir:p,

It’s a movie that you have seen umpteen times with a predictable & unbelievable ending (at the airport!) In fact the story begins like the tamil “ Azhagiya Theeya” – where the leading couple’s friends narrate their love story to someone else. Hmmm… wonder if the idea was stolen??

It’s a long movie..but great fun watching it since everyone were soo good in it. Even the late Smita Patel’s son was really convincing in his bit role as Genelia bro.

Watch it if you still havne’t!

Was looking forward to watch it in the theatre but couldn’t. Man, I seriously regret not doing it.:(
John Abraham was soooo HOT!!!!!Just tooo HOT!!!WoooOOO.. I dun ever remember seeing a Hot looking Blollywood actor strolling around in his briefs!!!

It was pretty disappointing to see Abhishek fully clad when his co –star was ALWAYS bearing his chest!!!hahah… Even Priyanka was happily showing off her toned figure in sexy outfits. Wonder why Abhishek didn’t bother to work out… but he was funny throughout the flick!

Well, watching everyone looking oh-so great it really bugged me for not working out!!

The movie was sooooo hilarious. Kiron Kher as Aby mum was totally over the top yet funny.

Its about 2 straight guys who act as gay partners to get a house for rental. Later they end up loving the house tenant, Priyanka Chopra.
Its pretty similar to the Hollywood movie which stars Adam Sandler. (can’t remember the movie title now!) Its just that its bollywoodnised.

Well it was re-telecasted on Ch5 at 11pm last night. Well it only applies if you are residing in Singapore. The telecast was sooo late that i only caught ARR receiving his award and switched it off. Missed out on SRK & the Best Film Awards..:(

Music maestro A R Rahman, who became the first Indian to win the prestigious Golden Globe Award, dedicated it to the "billion people of India," as British Director Danny Boyle's Mumbai-based saga 'Slumdog Millionaire,' bagged four prizes at the ceremony today.

A Mumbai underdog's rags-to-riches story, 'Slumdog Millionaire', swept all the four categories it was nominated for, winning the best director award for Boyle, the best music score for Rahman, best screenplay for Simon Beaufoy and also in the category of best drama.

Rahman, who won the coveted prize for his music score 'Jai Ho' in the film, thanked the director and his fellow musicians in Mumbai and Chennai, besides the "billion people from India".
"Unbelievable..! I thought, I would not win, so anyways thanks to the almighty God for bringing me here... Danny Boyle, Fox pictures, all my musicians in Chennai, Mumbai,.. and the billion people from India," he said while accepting the award.

Director Danny Boyle bagged the best director award, while Simon Beaufoy won the best screenplay award for the film that starred Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and British Indian Dev Patel.

Rahman should have said the "billion indians around the world" !!!haah!

My weekend..

Looks like everyone around me are either recovering from a bad flu or suffering from one.

I fell ill on Wednesday and slept the whole of Thursday. I can't afford to be sick as i was going to Malacca with my friend & her colleagues:)

It was my first time there.Visited a couple of Malacca's historical sites, Jonker street, saw a glimpse of the Malacca Eye (its something like the Spore Flyer but the ride is only about 12mins) & a mega mall. The food didn't really go down well on us but the company was fun. There were about 13 of us.There was alot of fun and laughter even in that small mini -van.

It looks like there are planning for another group outing, this time to Bangkok. I am contemplating on it but it seems to be soo dangerous to travel there with the ongoing political unrest. On the bright side, it we will safer and cost-saving to travel with them.hmmmm...

Lets see..

Anyways i happen to catch a 2 flicks over the weekend. So here are my reviews:

Just watched it out of boredom. Surprisingly i watched it till the end. Its pretty a realistic look on the new generations. Of course with alot of Bollywood gloss spread all over it!! This happens to be Ranbir's 2nd flick and he was already smooching all of HIS 3 heroines!!!Minisha Lamba, Bipasha & Deepika. The latter became his real gf!

Deepika character wasn't believable enough. Bipasha was just waaay to sleazy?!I guess she was trying to prove to the world that her workout was a success by wearing micro mini skirts & shorts?!!!Thats what i hated in the movie. The rest was fine. Great songs too!:) My Fave will be "Aahista". Catch it!

Hmmm... was eagerly waiting it catch it as its one of the highest grosser for 2008.

hmmm.. pretty disappointing. OK, its a comedy but looks like they spent loads of $$ on the location, designer outfits and Snoop Doggy!

Its about how Akshaye goes to Australia to fetch back a countrymen who turned out to be don (Sonu Sood).

Akshaye was choo hilarious but i still dislike Katrina.. she can't act for nutz!Flashy.. Flashy .. Movie
