The "IT" Song

This is the song that i keep mumbling to myself right now...
Just love it!Ensoy!

Movie: Subramaniyapuram
Song: Kangal Irandal
Music: James Vasanthan

2 Reviews

I have 2 reviews today. One is a book the other is a movie.

Title: Life Less Ordinary
Author: Baby Halder

An absolutely heart-rending & inspiring memoir of Baby Halder. It’s actually written by a domestic maid who is still at the same job.

Baby starts of her being young and abandoned by her mum, left to her uncaring father who made her marry at the young age of 12 to man of 26 yrs of age!! To her horror, he was worst than her dad who abused her physically and treated her like dirt! She became pregnant at the age of 13 & was forced to mature quickly and lost whatever childhood she had!!
She escaped from her husband for her children’s well being to delhi in search of her brothers. As sad as it sounds, they were not welcoming her visit so things got much worse..

So you must be wondering how she got into writing rite? Well after much hardship she finally met a wonderful employer who was kind to her and encouraged her writing!!!

It’s best that you read it to experience the feeling of it. I was almost welled with tears when I finished it. Wonder how she survived such torture and pain and still get to smile? How did she live through it? It’s an inspiring read that I am sure it makes your present problems look smaller.

FYI, its been translated from the Bengali book “ Aalo Andhari, from darkness to Light”

Thank you Baby
For inspiring me.

Thank you Baby
For sharing your story.

Thank you…

P.S: i have shared the real pix of Baby Halder & her current employer who is responsible for her writing. Anyways my book cover was not this.

Subramaniyapuram

I was quite keen to watch the movie since i read alot of rave reviews about it & my anticipation was further increased when my fren told me the story!!

There are only 2 known faces in it- Jai (chennai 28) & Kanja Karuppu. The guy on the right happens to be the director!!!

This is not YOUR typical tamil film at all. It has such a gripping storyline that you are not bored for even a second. Can't believe that Jai is this good... fantastic man... Every one were just too good in it..The songs are lovely too.. & its composed by James Vasanthan (ex suntv anchor). Some scenes were just pretty gruesome not that i have any problem with it. The only drawback was the vulgarities was censored so it kinds gets to you when certain dialogues are missing here & there.

I dun wanna write the review here and spoil the fun of it... so what are you waiting for?Go & catch it yaar!!

Casting The Evil Eye By Anusha Mishra

While glancing through the new arrivals at the library, the cover of the book simply caught my attention. The writer being Indian literally pushed me to borrrow it even without reading much about the content:) I'm glad that i did!!

It showed me a another dimension of the mordern India. A world which doesnt have any Bollywood star or a cricketer?!!!

A world which is not much discussed nor shown anywhere. Its about the witchcraft practice whose believe has taken the lives so many innocent women in India!! Sounds weird?Well it still occurs at this right minute!!

Hats off to the writer Archana Mishra, who has taken upon her self to write such detailed account. There were even moments where even her life was at stake!Thank you Archana, for not giving up half way.

Its soo unfortunate that even in 2008 where women are deemed equal to men, the rural ladies are treated no more than a slave!!!Innocent women are falsely identified as witches and thrown to suffer derogatory tortures and at times even lose one's life!!!

Victims "punishment" ranges from sexual harrasement, forced consumption of chicken blood/human urine/excreta?!!!She loses her family, money and right down to her identity!!What could be more humilliating than these?! To think the victims have still survived these horrible torture and lived to tell it. It just makes your blood boil when you realise that the police closes the case of the murdered victims?!!

I was filled with with both anger and sympathy when i was reading the documented book. Wish i could help them in someways.sigh... Hope at least the respective government or MP take up responsibility...grrrrrr.....

This book is recommened to everyone, to remind us of how lucky we are and to know that there still certain communities in the world who are so ignorant about the global change around them.

A heart-wrenching read.

IIFA 2008 - 2 more Performances..

IIFA 2008 - Govinda -

IIFA 2008 - Akshay -

Govinda is still rocking the stage..

Akshay Kumar is absolutely crazy!!!

Fantastic Performance by both!!!The South industry should really sit up and take notice of it. The south indian awards functions performances are usually done by heroines and some do it oh.. so badly!!! Top stars should throw away their inhibitions and "star" status and burn the stage!!!

I have Seen Kuselan!!!

Yeah.. I have seen Kuselan!!!:)

Managed to get the tix.. watched with a packed audience!!

It was a good film with a great performance by Pasupathy!!Meena did a wonderful job as his wife. Vadivelu was hilarious with his antics and comics!!! Nayantara was busy gyrating her sexy hips through out the film..but she was sooo pretty.. such a HUGE transformations from Chandramukhi...

Dun expect too much out of Rajinikanth as its nOT his film! Dint really like the songs about him.(too much of self-praise!)

It was refreshing to see him in a movie like this!

Catch it!!
P.S: The movies are still running to packed houses!

Packed week..

Its was fully packed week...

Attended my company's dinner. As expected, we spent about 2hrs loitering the lounge before we actually got seated!!! We had a 8 course meal.. the Food was good since it was held at a 6 star hotel..It was pretty irritating at times as the intervals of the dishes were quite long:(

I am happy that ist finally over.. spent quite alot on this...outfits, jewelleries.. taxi fare!!!urgh!!!

Speaking of that, both my mum and buddy taut my dress was pretty revealing..kekekek...but my fren liked it:) not sure about my mum though.....hahaha..

Anyways on sat i attened TFA's concert Gurukulam at Raffles's Jubliee Hall.

It was such a rush as i hurried back from class, went for a haircut & ran back home to have a quickie fix up. Speaking of haircut, every hairstylist who cuts my hair complains that my hair is too thick & long!!!I mean how can that be a complaint?!!!Isn't it supposed to be be good?

Sigh... manjans... anyhow.. my hair is pretty short now.. actually went for a trim but changed my mind after that.*wink*

OKie, back to the concert, it was a stupendous effort by both the teachers & students. Wonder when i will see myself there..not in the near future for sure! Its always a pleasure attending TFA's concerts:) Here are the pix...
